About Paw & co

A shop for the members of your family who cannot tell you what they want.

Most pet shops are organised around what is easy to stock. Aisles of the same four things in nine colours, and somewhere at the back, the one item you actually came in for. We started Paw & co because choosing well for an animal is harder than that, and nobody was making it easier.

So we buy the way you would if you had the time: one category at a time, reading what the thing is actually made of, asking whether it survives a week with a determined terrier. Everything here has been chosen by somebody. Nothing is here because it filled a gap in a spreadsheet.

How we choose

Three questions, in order. Is it safe? — materials first, before anything else, because an animal will chew what you did not expect it to chew. Does it last? — a toy that survives a fortnight is not cheap, it is disposable. Would we give it to our own?— the one that quietly removes most of the catalogue.

When something fails those questions we do not stock it, even when it sells. That is the whole business: a shorter list you can trust more.

Where things come from

We work with a network of manufacturers rather than holding a warehouse, so you are not paying for shelf space you never see. It also means we ship worldwide as standard — the address form takes every country, because a shop that posts to nine of them is a shop that decided not to bother.

Prices are in euro and include our margin. There is no membership, no tier, and no price that is only available if you subscribe to something.

What we are not

We do not sell food, medication or anything that belongs in a veterinarian’s hands. If your animal is unwell, the shop is not the answer and we would rather say so than sell you a supplement.

Everything else — the bed, the rope, the thing that keeps a parrot busy for an afternoon — that we can help with.
